Memory Forest Project at Fullwell Cross Library
Immerse Yourself in the Memory Forest Project
This autumn half-term, Fullwell Cross Library invites families, art enthusiasts, and local residents to discover the enchanting Memory Forest Project. Taking place on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, this community-driven event transforms the library into an imaginative sanctuary of shared memories, creativity, and illumination.
Organised in collaboration with the talented team at Barkingside Art Club, the Memory Forest Project is designed to bring generations together through hands-on artistic expression. Visitors can explore an interactive exhibition that captures local heritage and personal reflections, celebrating the stories that weave through the heart of Redbridge.
Creative Craft Workshops: Lanterns and Light-Up Masks
A core highlight of the day is the series of engaging craft workshops running throughout the session. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to design and build their very own light-up masks and bespoke lanterns.
- Lantern Making: Construct illuminated lanterns using vibrant tissue, willow frames, and decorative accents to carry home or add to the glowing forest display.
- Light-Up Masks: Experiment with wearable art by crafting intricate masks equipped with safe, gentle LED lights to brighten the darker autumn evenings.
- Interactive Exhibition: Walk through a multisensory forest installation, sharing personal memories and reading the heartfelt contributions of fellow neighbours.
Guided by experienced artists from Barkingside Art Club, these workshops provide step-by-step support, making them accessible to complete beginners as well as seasoned crafters. All materials are supplied, allowing participants to dive straight into their creative flow without needing to bring anything along.
