Angel Comedy RAW Thursdays at The Camden Head London

Unfiltered Laughs in the Heart of Islington

Angel Comedy RAW Thursdays provides comedy enthusiasts with one of London’s most vibrant and authentic live entertainment nights. Hosted weekly at the legendary Camden Head pub on Camden Walk, this long-running comedy institution offers audiences an exclusive look at material in its purest form. Running every Thursday evening at 19:00 through 29 October 2026, the night brings together fresh circuit talent and seasoned pros testing out unpolished, brand-new jokes.

The True Comedy Laboratory

RAW Thursdays is renowned across Greater London as a true creative workshop for the stand-up scene. Unlike polished tour shows, this open-mic and showcase hybrid thrives on spontaneous energy, unpredictable punchlines, and daring comedic risks. Visitors can expect an eclectic bill combining nervous newcomers finding their stage feet with household television names popping in unannounced to workshop material for stadium tours or Edinburgh Fringe previews.

What to Expect on the Night

The intimate upstairs room at The Camden Head ensures that every spectator is right at the centre of the action. The close-quarters atmosphere builds an immediate connection between performer and audience, turning every laugh, stumble, and brilliant improv into a collective experience.

• Start Time: Shows commence punctually at 19:00 every Thursday.
• Performers: A varied lineup featuring both emerging circuit acts and established professionals.
• Atmosphere: Warm, intimate, and community-driven with a relaxed pub vibe.
• Refreshments: Traditional ales, craft beers, and refreshments available downstairs at The Camden Head.

Essential Visitor Information

The Camden Head is situated at 2 Camden Walk, London, N1 8DY, tucked away in the pedestrianised alleys of Angel. The venue is exceptionally accessible, located just a five-minute stroll from Angel Underground Station on the Northern line, as well as multiple major bus routes serving Upper Street.
